VEIN REMOVAL THERAPY

Varicose Veins Treatment and Removal Therapies

Spider veins are unsightly and embarrassing; however, they can easily be removed. Danik offers three very effective, minimally invasive vein removal procedures: Sclerotherapy, Hyfrecator Vein Removal, and Laser Vein Removal. All three protocols can safely be performed in a medical office to treat spider veins (also known as thread veins) and small varicose veins. These treatments involve very tolerable modest discomfort, which can be mitigated with a topical anesthetic. Best of all, the results are permanent and multiple veins are treated at one time. Once removed, the vein will not reappear; however, none of these treatments prevent new veins from emerging. These will subsequently have to be treated if you wish to maintain the look of youthful-looking, vein-free skin.

Benefits of Vein Removal Therapy:

  • Reliably reduces or eliminates embarrassing spider and small varicose veins which, once treated, will not reappear. However, treatment will not prevent the emergence of new veins, which will need to be treated.

  • Restores treated areas to a smooth, clear, and unblemished look of health and youth.

  • Non-surgical and minimally invasive, involving no incisions or risk of scarring.

  • Relieves any aching or pain caused by the veins

  • Restores patient confidence, especially when wearing skirts, shorts and bathing suits that reveal legs and ankles.

Vein Removal Therapies Treatment Plan

Sclerotherapy Vein Removal

Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical vein treatment that involves the injection of a chemical solution directly into the vein. This solution causes the vein to scar and collapse, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is then reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades. Treated veins typically fade within a few weeks, although in some cases it can take up to a month to see the full results. Additionally, it may take several Sclerotherapy treatments to achieve optimum results. Patients report that any discomfort is easily tolerated, and depending upon how many veins are being treated, the procedure should take 15 – 30 minutes.

Hyfrecator Vein Removal

Hyfrecator Vein Removal offers another effective approach to the elimination of spider veins. This electrosurgical technology works on spider veins wherever they appear, whether it’s the face, ears and forehead, or arms, thighs and ankles. The treatment is administered with the use of a hyfrecator probe. This probe quickly and selectively destroys the vein by delivering an electric current through the tip of the hyfrecator into the skin directly above the vein. The treatment is administered without anesthesia; however, sensitive patients may need a topical, local anesthetic to mitigate the slight burning or stinging sensation. Multiple treatments may be required to achieve the desired effect.

Laser Vein Removal

Laser Vein Removal involves the use of a highly focused beam of light, or laser. The laser heat damages the treated vein, which makes scar tissue form. This scar tissue closes the vein, and with no blood source, the vein dies and disappears. Typically, it takes more than one laser session to achieve vein-free skin, so successive treatments are schedules every 6 – 12 weeks.

FAQs

Walking is highly recommended soon after the procedure; however, strenuous fitness and sports activities should be avoided for the first 2-3 days

There may be mild pain, which can be alleviated with Tylenol. The injected site will appear bruised and swollen for a few days. Wearing an ace bandage day and night will relieve the swelling and pain. Any bruising typically resolves in 2-3 weeks, and after 2 days, most patients can resume their normal activities.

It varies from patient to patient, but typically 2-4 treatments are required for optimum results. NOTE: The number of treatments is larger in severe cases where more and/or larger veins must be addressed.

The sclerosants are either hypertonic saline or sodium tetradecyl sulphate. The chemical solution used irritates the vein, causing it to undergo fibrosis and eventually disappear.

Sclerotherapy is performed in a medical office because it is only minimally invasive and does not require anesthesia.
