The lymphatic system is responsible for detoxifying our bodies; however, lymph flow can become sluggish after cosmetic, orthopedic, or general surgery. Lymph is a fluid that circulates in and around body tissues delivering nutrients and oxygen while carrying away fatty acids, bacteria, and toxins. This vigorous circulation and ultimate elimination of toxins is vital to post-surgical recovery and optimal results after healing. Stimulation of the lymphatic system increases the rate at which the body removes waste, dead cell particles, and inflammatory agents from tissue. Accelerating the lymphatic flow has been demonstrated to reduce post-surgical swelling, bruising, and the risk of infection or scarring. Lymphatic Drainage Massage is exactly what you need.
A Lymphatic Drainage Massage Boosts immune system..
Regenerates tissue to correct and reduce the appearance of surgical scars.
Removes toxins from the body, including the liver and colon.
Breaks down congestion in the body.
Improves digestion/elimination.
Increases circulation, contributing the improvement of skin texture, tone and youthfulness.
Increases circulation, contributing the improvement of skin texture, tone and youthfulness.
Reduces fluid retention, swelling, and inflammation in and around the surgical site and incisions.
Relieves stress, pain, and fatigue.
Accelerates post-operative recovery.
Supports the immune system by acting directly on the central nervous system to release endorphins, which are natural substances that promote relaxation, pain relief, and a sense of well-being.
For maximum efficacy, post-operative Lymphatic Drainage Massage sessions may begin one week after surgery. Early treatment increases the likelihood of reduced swelling, bruising and pain, thereby accelerating the healing process to achieve maximum post-surgical results. Typically, 12 sessions of 50 minutes each are recommended according to the following schedule: First week: 3 sessions; Second week: 3 sessions; Third week: 2 sessions; Fourth week: 2 sessions; Fifth week: 1 session; Sixth week: 1 session. Arrive for appointments well hydrated, eat only a light snack, and urinate before the treatment. Do NOT wear cream or lotion on your skin, and do not drink alcoholic beverages the night before. Plan for a period of movement after your treatment and then a period of rest.
Expect a very relaxing low- to moderate-pressure Lymphatic Drainage Massage that employs techniques designed to move the body’s lymph fluid more vigorously through the lymphatic system. Your therapist will apply painless pressure to certain areas of the body that have a high concentration of lymph nodes, and many patients doze off because the treatment is so stress-relieving. After the treatment, look for increased urination as well as urine that is darker in color with a stronger odor.

It will take about an hour.
Your therapist will apply pressure and stoking techniques in certain areas in a very soothing way. The therapist will concentrate on several key areas of your lymphatic system, including the neck, armpits, abdomen, and hips. Organs such as the liver and kidneys will also be addressed in addition to any other areas where you feel pain, or wish to see molding, skin tightening and texture improvement. Beyond that, you may experience tingling, coolness in your extremeties, or digestive noises as lymph flow begins to detoxify.
A few days before your appointment, start drinking a lot of water or all-natural juices. Wear comfortable clothing and a sports bra for women is recommended. Don’t drink alcohol the night before, and eat very lightly before the appointment. Also don’t wear body lotion or makeup if the face and neck are going to be a focus of attention.
No tubes are attached to the patient during this procedure. The “drainage” refers to the acceleration of lymph flow that results in the elimination of toxins through increased urination.
