REAL LIFE RESULTS

Chemical Peel Treatment Plan

Peels come in different formulations and strengths in order to address varying conditions and degrees of severity. Depending on their strength, peels target one or more of the three layers of skin: the epidermis, dermis, and sub-dermal layer. While skin rejuvenation appears in the outer layer of the skin, peels actually stimulate increased cell turnover from the inside out.

AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) Peel

This is Danik’s lightest peel. The alpha hydroxyl acid is derived from fruit, milk, sugar, and other natural sources. This peel is recommended to patients seeking a fast recovery time and immediate results. AHA Peels deliver a gentle removal of the dead skin on the superficial layer of the treated area to correct fine lines, discoloration, and superficial imperfections. This is a non-invasive peel with little or no down time. Maximum results are seen after 5-7 treatments spaced two weeks apart.

Vitalize Peel by SkinMedica

While a milder peel, this treatment is highly effective for correcting the appearance of sun damage, lines and wrinkles, age spots, brown spots, and acne scarring. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after the treatment with the exception of sun exposure. Light peeling may occur for about three days post-treatment; however, everyone’s case is different.

TCA Peel

Are you looking for a chemical peel near me – TCA Peels can be administered in two forms, a superficial TCA Peel or a deep TCA Peel. The treatment requires greater post-treatment care because the skin will be swollen and mildly uncomfortable. TCA Peels can be formulated with a variety of acidic agents to achieve the strength needed. Within a few days, the superficial layer of skin will darken and begin to flake off. The complete peeling process typically takes from 4-7 days. Once the old skin has sloughed off, new skin will appear looking bright and flushed. At this point you may begin to apply makeup and hydrate the skin.

Chemical Peels are dermatology-grade treatments use to improve the skin from conditions such as acne, hyper-pigmentation, freckles, dry skin, wrinkles, fine lines, oily skin, acne scars and discolorations, sun damage, age spots, and more, in any area of the body and face.

Danik MedSpa offers several chemical peels and based on your skin type and conditions our chemical peels will help you improve your skin texture and get rid of skin imperfections – you will start seeing results right away.

You will notice the improvement of your skin surface, and the discoloration of the outer layer of the skin – the epidermis.

Chemical Peels are especially helpful to correct skin problems caused by sun-damaged skin; acne scars, age spots, and the control of over produced sebaceous oil and inflamed acne.

How A Chemical Peel Works?

A peel has different level of strength that targets the three layers of the skin;epidermis also known as the superficial layer, dermis and the sub-dermal layer.

Once the peel is applied over the treatment area, the chemical begins to breakdown and to dissolve the dead skin cells allowing changes of the skin.

Peeling occurs differently for every case. A stronger peel such as a TCA or Rejuvenating Peel penetrates into the deeper layers resulting in a longer recovery time whereas a low concentration peel might not have any downtime at all.

Considerations Before And After Peels

Many of the acids used in our cosmetic peels cause your skin to peel after the treatment. Within the first week of the treatment, you may notice the dead skin start flaking off and new skin beginning to appear with a smooth and renew texture. Avoid any direct contact with sun during the peeling recovery time.

It is highly recommended to stop using Retin-A, Vitamin A or C medicationsfor at least 3 days prior to the treatment.

Sun exposure and smoking after a chemical peel can cause unwanted side effects including infection, burning and scarring.Post-care instructions will be given to patient after the treatment has been performed.

4 Tips for Better Results after a Chemical Peel

1. No scratching or rubbing the treated area. While the skin may burn, itch, or swell, it is important to resist the urge. To alleviate the discomfort, apply a cold compress.
2. Keep your skin moist and supple. This will give you better results. If the skin dries out and cracks, scarring may occur.
3. Do not pick at scabs. After a deep peel, the face tends to scab, but picking at scabs can increase the risk of an infection, skin discoloration, and scarring.
4. Wear sunscreen daily once your skin heals. Applying sunscreen before your makeup will help maintain the results.

FAQs

The success of the peel should not be judged by the amount of peeling, as visible flaking may vary depending on the condition of the skin and the depth of the peel. Regardless of the degree of visible flaking, the skin is still exfoliating at an accelerated rate resulting in the improvement of skin tone, texture, and smoothness.

With good sun protection, results can last months or years, depending on the depth of the peel. Generally, the deeper peels have a longer lasting effect.

Receiving a series of chemical exfoliation treatments will yield the best results. Our medical estheticians will guide you through a skin care program that consists of treatments and the use of skincare products that address your specific needs. The superficial peels are usually done several times over the course of several months. Deeper peels usually only need to be performed once to achieve the desired effect, but this varies from patient to patient.

This treatment technique improves the texture, tone, and smoothness of skin. Chemical peels are recommended for the repair and correction of sun damage, wrinkles, scarring, acne and discoloration (including melasma, freckles, and age spots).

A chemical peel is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Chemical peels produce controlled injury to the skin which promotes cell turnover and the growth of new skin tissue.
