Roller Facials and Micro Needling

Roller Facials and Micro Needling Treatment

Micro Needling treatments employ either a manual needling roller or electric needling pen to improve skin texture by reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and enlarged pores. Both devices are  studded with rows of very fine titanium needles that actually wound the skin, thereby triggering the body’s natural healing response through the creation of new collagen and elastin fibers. In short, the punctures stimulate the rapid production of new, healthy skin with tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers along with new capillaries for an improved flow of oxygen and other nutrients to the freshly exposed, undamaged skin.

  • Stimulates circulation and both elastin and collagen production.
  • Triggers tissue regeneration.
  • Medical- grade titanium needles makes it non-allergenic to human tissue.
  • Can be performed on all skin types, including ethnic skin.
  • Can be used on all areas of the scalp, face and body, including the fragile skin around the eyes, mouth and neck.

Roller Facials and Micro Needling Treatment Plan

The skin is cleaned and a topical numbing agent is applied to reduce discomfort. To augment results, a hyaluronic acid or vitamin-C serum is applied to further stimulate collagen production as the titanium needles pierce the skin and promote serum absorption. Finally, after the treatment, a soothing serum antioxidant will be applied to promote healing and lessen irritation. The needling may also make the treated skin feel drier than normal, calling for follow-up applications of a hydrating hyaluronic acid cream.

Most people experience redness and mild swelling for 24-48 hours after the treatment, and it’s also normal to see minimal pin-point bleeding and bruising. Expect to see smoother, more radiant skin within 1-2 weeks; however, it will take a few months for the cell turnover and increased collagen production to achieve maximum results.

Frequently Asked Questions

What downtime or recovery is involved after Micro Needling?

The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short, fading from red to a pinkish hue that will dissipate with 12-48 hours. Post-treatment, a hyaluronic acid compound is recommended to reduce inflammation, while a zinc-based sunscreen is essential to protect the healing skin. Only mineral makeup should be used after the procedure.

Is Micro Needling safe and effective for members of all races and ethnicities?

Yes. Micro Needling is a safe and effective treatment to use on all skin types and all skin colors. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

How many treatments are required?

Micro Needling treatments should be spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The number of treatments required will depend on how well the patient responds to treatment as well as the severity of the condition being treated and the patient’s desired results. Typically, 3 treatments are recommended for anti-aging and 3-6 treatments for scarring; however, every individual’s condition and expectations are different, which may call for an increased number of treatments.

What is the risk of post-treatment infection?

Since the tiny needle punctures close within one hour and Danik’s clinical conditions are completely antiseptic, the possibility of post-treatment infection is extremely unlikely.

What are the side effects of the Micro Needling?

There are no negative side effects other than redness and possible bleeding and/or mild swelling at the puncture sites, all of which will resolve within 24-48 hours.
